Jackson on British Superbike duty at the Cathedral of Speed

Lee Jackson is set to return to the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship this weekend as the series heads to the Netherlands for Round 11 at the TT Circuit Assen.

The Lincolnshire teenager made his superbike debut earlier this year deputising for injured team-mate, James Westmoreland at Brands Hatch, Thruxton and Oulton Park.

With the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship not in attendance at Assen, the Buildbase BMW Motorrad team will field a third BSB-spec S 1000 RR for Jackson alongside Westmoreland and championship contender Ryuichi Kiyonari.

Having ridden in both the Superbike and Superstock classes when filling in for Westmoreland, Jackson is looking forward to being able to place 100% focus on riding the superbike this weekend as he sets out to learn the iconic 2.54 mile Grand Prix circuit.

“I’m really looking forward to riding the circuit for the first time. I’ve been watching lots of bike racing from Assen and the track looks like it could really suit my style, so once I’ve been out and learnt the track I then can start to push on. I rode a Superbike on Sunday at Mallory Park just to get used to the bike I’ll be riding and I felt at home on it straight away. I can’t wait to get the weekend underway and I would just like to thank everyone at Buildbase BMW, my family and the sponsors who’ve come on board for this weekend, especially FJG Logistics.”
