The Buildbase BMW team heads south this weekend for the sixth round of the 2015 MCE British Superbike at the Brands Hatch circuit in Kent.
After securing strong results last time out at Knockhill, both Ryuichi Kiyonari and Lee Jackson will be looking to build on this as the British Superbike stars take on the 2.43 mile Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit.
Kiyonari has enjoyed much success at Brands in the past, a circuit at which he has been crowned British Superbike champion twice. He’ll be looking to return to the podium after a challenging start to the 2015 season.
The Japanese star had a breakthrough at Knockhill to secure a strong fourth place in race two but is gunning for victory this weekend as he looks to return to an all-important top six championship position.
Lee Jackson heads to Brands full of confidence after securing his biggest points haul of the season at Knockhill two weeks ago. The Lincolnshire teenager made his British Superbike debut at the Brands Grand Prix circuit just twelve months ago as a replacement rider and just missed out on the points with a respectable 16th placed finish.
British Superbike organisers have also added an unexpected twist to the weekend with a change to the rules for Sunday’s second race. Should a rider qualify on the front row of the grid for race two, they will be given the option to start from the back and earn double championship points. Should they go through to win the race they will bag £50,000!
I like Brands, I have many good memories of racing there but also some bad ones too like the last round in 2014! At Knockhill we made big improvements and I felt much faster. I need to win races this weekend to get myself back in to the top six. All I want is to win so it is maybe too risky to start from the back but we’ll see.

I made my British Superbike debut at Brands GP last year and really enjoyed it so I’m looking forward to getting back out there with some more experience under my belt. We had a solid weekend at Knockhill so hopefully we can build on that. I’d have to qualify on the front row before even thinking about the £50k and that would be a big achievement for us in my rookie season on its own!”

We had a good weekend at Knockhill so hopefully we can take that a few steps further this weekend. It’s really important for Kiyo to get some good championship points and podium credits so we’ll be pushing for the best weekend possible. If he qualifies on the front row for Race 2 and has the pace, we would definitely look at starting from the back – double points would certainly help us get back up to the top six!

After a strong weekend at Knockhill it’s important for Lee to build on this. He had his biggest points haul of the season, so now he needs to look at the next step and chip away at the top ten.
