Buildbase BMW hope to continue momentum at Brands Hatch

The Buildbase BMW team are hoping for brighter weather at Brands Hatch this weekend as the third round of the MCE British Superbike Championship begins. Taking place in Kent between today and May 22, the excitement is booming between both racing teams and fans.

Following Richard Cooper’s victory three weeks ago at Oulton Park, celebrations have been cast aside in a bid to focus on the races ahead. And despite earning a place outside the top ten, Lee Jackson has kept himself in good spirits, spurred on by a team win.

“I’m really looking forward to getting back out on my Buildbase BMW after a couple of weeks off. After our last outing I really want to make amends as we really had a tough race day at Oulton and I want to be back inside the top 10,” the Lincolnshire racer commented. “I would just like to thank Buildbase BMW for the continued support and giving me the opportunity along with my personal sponsors.”

While Jackson and Cooper are both looking to make good time on the 1.2079 mile Brands Hatch Indy circuit, they will face tough competition from rivals such as Christian Iddon and Shane ‘Shakey’ Byrne, both of whom are currently topping the championship leader board. Cooper’s first place victory though keeps him in 6th place, while Jackson sits in 9th.

Team Manager Steve Hicken said: “After a good start to the season for us in both Superbike and Superstock classes, along with winning the Superbike at the NW200 and setting a new lap record, our objective now is to continue with podiums. Our form at Brands, over the last few years, has always been constantly running in the top six, so we would like to think that we can continue in the same manner. In all, I think we should be able to have a good weekend.”
